Christmas Island (The Christmas Crab Migration)

Located far northwest of Australia in the Indian Ocean is the small island named Christmas. With a population of only around 1,400 people, 63% of the island is under national protection as an Australian wildlife park. But although there may not be many humans, Christmas island is home to over 40 million Red Land Crabs which are famous for their long annual migration across the island to the ocean, crossing roads, villages and train tracks to lay their eggs.
